We cannot say enough good things about our puppy Maysie. She was born on May 20, 2009. We brought Maysie into our home when she was only five weeks old. She had bright blue eyes that just made you melt. She was the smallest most adorable puppy we had ever seen. Despite her size, she was full of energy and held her own while with our other dogs. Her eyes were bigger than her little tummy. Her belly would always hang on the floor after eating. She never ate her puppy food, but always preferred eating the adult dog food. We loved buying her little costumes and dressing her up as a cowgirl, Dracula or just a sweet little dress. She is a blue and red nose mix pit bull. She has been spayed and is updated on all of her shots.
Now at just over a year and a half, Maysie is in fact larger, but still has as much energy, if not more than when we got her. She loves nothing more than to run in the backyard with our other dogs and chase birds away. We have a trampoline in the backyard, which we have tried so hard to keep her off of. However, being the monster that she is, Maysie loves to jump up and bounce on the trampoline. She loves to play with a ball, however you shouldn’t expect her to bring it back. She loves to chase things, not retrieve them! At night, Maysie loves to snuggle up with us under the blanket. She is the best comforter you could buy. She loves nothing more than to satisfy her owners and keep them company.
We actually own a of couple dogs, all of which Maysie has always gotten along with. It wasn’t until recently, Maysie started becoming a little jealous of the other dogs. We have another female pit bull named Kalie, who is older but smaller than Maysie. Maysie wanted to prove that she was the dominant female, so she started a lot of trouble between them. After the first confrontation, we chalked it up to a bad day. Little did we know, she just didn’t want anything to do with Kalie.
Recently, we have had more trouble between the two girls. We do not want any further problems between the two. Maysie has never shown aggression to her owners or towards the other dogs, however she does not like cats. We feel it is very important and in her best interest, that we find her a home where she is the only dog and can get all of the attention. She is a very intelligent dog and loves to please. Maysie loves to go to the bathroom with us and keep us company, however she has been known to be a toilet paper thief. She also loves to play footsie under the bathroom doors. She loves to chew on thick play ropes and play tug-of-war with the kids in the backyard. She is very strong and wins without default. Because she is a little monster, we normally put her in a crate, when we leave, but make sure it is only for a couple house at a time.
Maysie is a beautiful dog. We love to watch her play in the backyard and run with the other dogs. She has a coat that is snow white, with brown spots and so soft. However, the majority of the time she is all brown (especially after rain storms). We have learned over time that Maysie hates baths and will avoid tubs at all costs. We did bring her in the pool a few times, which again she wasn’t too fond of. If it rains however, watch out, because she loves to play in the puddles, especially the muddy ones. She also loves to drink the water from the hose spickett and play in the water sprinklers. She absolutely hates her nails being cut.
Again, we are looking for a responsible owner to take care of our puppy Maysie. She absolutely needs to be in a home with no other animals, especially cats and dogs. We would love her to have lots of room to run and play. From a distance, this dog might be considered intimidating; however, she is a big baby on the inside and full of love. We would like to place her with someone who is familiar with the pit bull breed and has experience with them. We would also like to keep in touch, with her future owners, so we can follow her as she grows.
