Meet Amber!  This beautiful girl has a heart of gold.  She is about 3 years old and weights approximately 50 lbs.  Amber enjoys running around the back yard with her foster siblings and watching TV with her foster parents.  She is happy, full of life and has tons of personality.  Amber is also good with dogs and kids.  She loves cats a little too much, so we recommend a cat-free home.  Amber has a very sad story...but you would never know it.  She was hit by a car under the care of her previous owner and suffered terribly without vet care of any kind.  We are happy to report that since coming into our home, Amber has made a full recovery.

Please contact me if you would like to meet this special girl.  She is truly one-of-a-kind.

This gal needs a new foster/home ASAP.  Babe was found as a stray and looked like she was still nursing puppies.  We went back and looked but found nothing. She must have been abandoned there.  She loves to chase lizards ... unfortunately right into CACTUS! Babe needs a yard with a block wall and NO cactus.  She has a delightful personality and is learning to walk on a leash. She is a Lab mix and LOVES people!  Babe is housebroken and sleeps great in the house all night. She knows how to use a doggie door.  Babe is good with other dogs but plays like a football player ... she is probably less that 2 yrs old.

She needs an assertive caretaker and she will thrive! Contact: fido42@cox.net

Lab/Pit Mix. Female. “Harley” 11 months old, Spayed and up to date on her shots. Great with everyone she meets and kids – a real lover.

She’ll follow you everywhere. Housebroken, doggie door trained, pretty good on the leash and not a door dasher. She’s still in the chewing phase but not destructive. Not sure about cats.

An introduction is required if you have other dogs. Julie (602) 703-1901

A  young female black and white Pit Bull mix approximately 1 /12 to 2 years young.  She is spayed and up to date on all her shots and will soon be microchipped.  She was rescued from on the day she was to be put to sleep, her foster mom had been watching her from the moment she stepped foot in the shelter and was set on saving her if put on the e-list.  Journey has been living with her foster Mom for a little over 1 month, and is now fully crate trained, and gets along well with her  5 foster siblings both male and female alike, ranging from big to little.  She is a energetic girl, and enjoys running around in the yard and going for walks when it’s not too hot.  Journey is working on her leash manners and doggie manners.  She would do best with no cats as she shows a bit too much interest but could be with either female or male dogs.   Please contact Christina at 602-281-5828 for more information if you would like to adopt this girl.

We cannot say enough good things about our puppy Maysie.  She was born on May 20, 2009.  We brought Maysie into our home when she was only five weeks old.  She had bright blue eyes that just made you melt.  She was the smallest most adorable puppy we had ever seen.  Despite her size, she was full of energy and held her own while with our other dogs.  Her eyes were bigger than her little tummy.  Her belly would always hang on the floor after eating.  She never ate her puppy food, but always preferred eating the adult dog food.  We loved buying her little costumes and dressing her up as a cowgirl, Dracula or just a sweet little dress.  She is a blue and red nose mix pit bull.  She has been spayed and is updated on all of her shots.

Now at just over a year and a half, Maysie is in fact larger, but still has as much energy, if not more than when we got her.  She loves nothing more than to run in the backyard with our other dogs and chase birds away.  We have a trampoline in the backyard, which we have tried so hard to keep her off of.  However, being the monster that she is, Maysie loves to jump up and bounce on the trampoline.  She loves to play with a ball, however you shouldn’t expect her to bring it back.  She loves to chase things, not retrieve them!  At night, Maysie loves to snuggle up with us under the blanket.  She is the best comforter you could buy.  She loves nothing more than to satisfy her owners and keep them company.

We actually own a of couple dogs, all of which Maysie has always gotten along with.  It wasn’t until recently, Maysie started becoming a little jealous of the other dogs.  We have another female pit bull named Kalie, who is older but smaller than Maysie.  Maysie wanted to prove that she was the dominant female, so she started a lot of trouble between them.  After the first confrontation, we chalked it up to a bad day.  Little did we know, she just didn’t want anything to do with Kalie.

Recently, we have had more trouble between the two girls.  We do not want any further problems between the two.  Maysie has never shown aggression to her owners or towards the other dogs, however she does not like cats.  We feel it is very important and in her best interest, that we find her a home where she is the only dog and can get all of the attention.  She is a very intelligent dog and loves to please.  Maysie loves to go to the bathroom with us and keep us company, however she has been known to be a toilet paper thief.  She also loves to play footsie under the bathroom doors.  She loves to chew on thick play ropes and play tug-of-war with the kids in the backyard.  She is very strong and wins without default.  Because she is a little monster, we normally put her in a crate, when we leave, but make sure it is only for a couple house at a time.

Maysie is a beautiful dog.  We love to watch her play in the backyard and run with the other dogs.  She has a coat that is snow white, with brown spots and so soft.  However, the majority of the time she is all brown (especially after rain storms).  We have learned over time that Maysie hates baths and will avoid tubs at all costs.  We did bring her in the pool a few times, which again she wasn’t too fond of.  If it rains however, watch out, because she loves to play in the puddles, especially the muddy ones.  She also loves to drink the water from the hose spickett and play in the water sprinklers.  She absolutely hates her nails being cut.

Again, we are looking for a responsible owner to take care of our puppy Maysie.  She absolutely needs to be in a home with no other animals, especially cats and dogs.  We would love her to have lots of room to run and play.  From a distance, this dog might be considered intimidating; however, she is a big baby on the inside and full of love.  We would like to place her with someone who is familiar with the pit bull breed and has experience with them.  We would also like to keep in touch, with her future owners, so we can follow her as she grows.

Sahara is 1-2 year old spayed female pit mix.  She loves every person she's met, especially if they're willing to rub her tummy.  She hasn't met many other dogs, but she loves her Chihuahua mix friend, Dingo.  She would need an introduction to other dogs and probably kids since she hasn't met many.  She is a very sweet, very strong girl with lots of love to give!

Dingo is a neutered male Chihuahua mix who is about 2 years old.  Dingo's favorite pass time is sitting in a warm, cozy lap, or snuggling and playing with his pit bull mix friend, Sahara.  Dingo hasn't met too many children or dogs so he would need an introduction.

Thor was found as a stray.  He is approximately 4 years old and neutered.  He loves people and is good with children.  He loves going for walks. Thor is extremely muscular and STRONG!! He would be best with an experienced pit bull owner.  He does not like other dogs and must be adopted as an only dog.  He would be a great hiking companion.

Please contact Lucky Paws shelter if you are interested in Thor.  Kelly Perry, Director (602) 955-1414

I was brought to MASH Unit, where I received the love and care I needed to recover. Several of my brothers and sisters have already found a family to love them. I am hoping to find a family to love me and call my own as well. I would make a great family pet! Do you have room in your heart for me?

Turbo is posted as a courtesy to the great people at the Sheriff's office MASH unit.  The adoption process will be handled directly through MASH using the forms located on the MASH website.  Adoption appointments are available every weekday from 9 am to 5 pm, including holidays, and an officer is on duty from 5 am to midnight to answer questions at (602) 876-1212.
